Birds & Bugs is a free, public Wildlife Discovery Event created by Les Fruits de Mer, where St. Martin residents and visitors of all ages can see and learn about the amazing birds and invertebrates living in the broadleaf forest.
Birds & Bugs 2013 was held at Loterie Farm on December 7, 2013. The event was organized by Les Fruits de Mer and Environmental Protection in the Caribbean. Over 40 volunteers helped make the event possible, with sponsors contributing to the cost of event supplies. Over 200 people attended the event, and approximately 175 calabash bird feeders were painted by guests and taken home to attract birds year-round. The event included birding tours of the forest guided by experts, a bird education station, a bug discovery station, and local wildlife-themed art activities for children.
